Regarding ``Prayer did it?'' (letter, Aug. 28): I am outraged that someone would have the nerve to put God in the same category as ``Mother Goose, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.'' How sad to have such little faith in such an awesome God.
Yes, prayer did it. God listens to those who love and believe in him.
Hooray for Pat Robertson for having great faith in God - the one who made the storm and the one who took it away.

I was amazed and amused by the Aug. 20 the article about prayer. So Pat Robertson is taking full credit for turning away Hurricane Felix. He says he has the video tapes to prove it. If Mr. Robertson has such an inside track with the Almighty, why didn't he just ask God to turn the storm slightly so we could have gotten some rain - we really need the rain?
Can the rest of us now blame Mr. Robertson for the lack of precipitation because he is turning away the storms? I can't believe this guy! He says there hasn't been a major storm since he first went on the air in 1961. What about the Ash Wednesday storm? Wasn't that in '61 or '62? Maybe his specialty is just hurricanes?
I think the closer truth might be that there hasn't been a major hurricane in this area since 1933, and Mr. Robertson hasn't had a thing to do with it.

Pat Robertson is bringing attention to the power of prayer and god's mercy.
The mighty hand of God did hold back Hurricane Felix as surely as he parted the Red Sea.
Pat is giving this praise and honor back to whom it belongs - Almighty God.
