C. Sherwood Jones, 87, died Friday, Sept. 1, 1995, in an Elizabeth City hospital.
Mr. Jones, a native of Manteo, was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and was a quiet, gentle man. He was the son of the late Roscoe and Estelle Mann Jones and the husband of the late Wilma Creef Jones.
He is survived by one daughter, Estelle Jones Wilson of Manteo; one sister, Edna Etheridge of Manteo; one step-niece, Rae Brothers of Manteo; and one grandson, John Wilson IV of Manteo.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Twiford's Colony Chapel. Burial will follow in Manteo Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Jack and Estelle Wilson, 255 Mother Vineyard Road, Manteo.
