KAREN A. BASS-HORTON

Karen Alexandria Bass-Horton, 29, of the 800 block of Navaho Drive, died Aug. 30, 1995, in Raleigh.

She was a native of Norfolk and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, member of the Voices of Antioch, and the Triangle Outreach Ministry Community Choir. She was a clerk with IBM.

Survivors include her husband, James Horton Sr. of Raleigh; one son, James Raynard Horton Jr. of Raleigh; her mother, Jeanette Bass of Norfolk; three sisters, Cheryl Harris of Fort Belvoir, Va., Gina Bass and Stacy Bass, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; four brothers, Major Micheal Bass of Richmond, Alan J. Bass of Petersburg, Va., Christopher J. Bass of Norfolk, and Minister Mark Bass of Virginia Beach; grandfather, James Turner of Norfolk; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will assemble at 904 Culpepper St. at noon for the procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling the arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Personal photo
