Harold Curtiss Revis, 66, of the 600 block of S. George Washington Highway, died Saturday in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Revis was born in Whittier, N.C., and was the son of the late John T. and Otta Ellen Brown Revis. Mr. Revis had been with the Virginia Beach public schools for 30 years. He retired as principal of Providence Elementary School and taught and coached for 10 years at Princess Anne High School. He received his master's degree in education at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, N.C. He was a member of the Model A Ford Club of Virginia Beach. He had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Childers Revis; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura Jean Revis Thaw and David James Thaw, both of Oxford, N.C.; one brother, Millard B. Revis of Whittier, N.C.; two sisters, Ferry Lee Adams of Whittier and Marian Russell of Anderson, Ind.; his granddaughter, Sarah Ellen Thaw, also of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Deep Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Ernie Meyers and Dr. Roscoe Musselwhite will officiate. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Following the services here, the body will be sent to Bill Moody Funeral Home, Bryson City, N.C., for a graveside service to be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Swain Memorial Park, Bryson City, N.C. The family will receive friends at the Bill Moody Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Deep Creek Baptist Church, 250 Mill Creek Parkway, Chesapeake, Va. 23323, or to a favorite charity.
