Because of technical problems, the wrong photo was printed for the
feature ``Yesterday on the Outer Banks'' on Page 51 of Sunday's
Carolina Coast. The correct photo shows an example of how the Outer
Banks is subject to continual, occasionally catastrophic, change
during storms and how nearly anything that stands still long enough
will be engulfed. Someone parked this dragline too near Oregon Inlet
on March 6, 1962, the eve of the Ash Wednesday storm, and when calm
returned, only part protruded above ground. The owner's misfortune
could have been greater. Many things disappeared completely during
the storm.
Technical difficulties caused other problems in the printing of The
Coast, and we regret any inconvenience this caused our readers.
