As I read the article ``Public housing on the block,'' I was amazed at the remarks of the single mother of seven and her idea of what has been done to Diggs Town. I emphatically disagree with her. The community is beautiful. Now it looks as if people live there. It gives them a sense of value. It has the appearance of a neighborhood instead of a ghetto.
I get a thrill and a sense of pride every time I'm there. It's a good feeling. The place is outstanding. I'm not afraid to go there now.
I say ``Hats off'' to the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority for a job well-done. Whoever designed it needs a medal. I sincerely wish all of the other projects could have the same renovations. NRHA has my highest praise.
