CLARA C. HARPER

Clara Cobb Harper of the 4200 block of Portsmouth Blvd. died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995, in a Suffolk nursing home.

Mrs. Harper was a native of Farmville, Va., and was the widow of Fred C. Harper Sr. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Richard Dale Women's Club. She was a graduate of Longwood College in Farmville.

Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Harper Brown and Mary Harper Johnson, both of Portsmouth; two sons, Fred C. Harper Jr. of Northville, Mich., and F. Gordon Harper of Lynchburg, Va.; two sisters, Kemper Becker of Topeka, Kan. and Grace Wood of Farmville, Va.; 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Walter Kennedy. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund.
