Nick Anoia needed something to keep his grass cut. His choices - to buy a riding lawn mower or a horse.
``But I grew up on a riding lawn mower at our house in Alanton . . . ,'' said the rural Virginia Beach resident and jack of all trades.
``So I bought the horse. And, she's doing the job right now. She's earning her keep.''
Anoia moved to the Beach when his father opened a barber shop at Pembroke. Now he's a partner in two barber shops and in a parking lot, owner of a pizza restaurant on the Boardwalk, president of a construction company and vice president of a water sports business.
``I like to stay busy,'' Anoia said.
