ROCKIN' IN THE SAND

The second annual American Music Festival, which began a week ago and ended Monday, appeared to be a success by most anyone's measure. The entertainers got an enthusiastic response from the tens of thousands who flocked to the beach to hear them rehash a medley of oldies, and vacant resort hotel rooms were difficult if not impossible to find. While the party's now over, resort workers are busy cleaning up the sand and strip, preparing for yet another festival. The annual Neptune affair runs Sept. 16 through Oct. 1. Three Dog Night, the last band to play the now-demolished Dome,

played to a packed crowd on the beach Friday night before the rains

came.

dancing Saturday to their special blend of oldies but goodies.
