John Thomas ``Tom'' Ramsey Sr., 68, of the 2200 block of Battery Park Road, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Ramsey was raised in Norfolk and was the son of the late Herbert G. Ramsey. He was a member of Cradock Baptist Church and a retired air conditioning and refrigeration supervisor from the Norfolk International Terminals. He was also a member of RSES, Western Branch Pinboys Senior Bowling League; and a very active member of the Norview High School, class of 1944.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Bell Ramsey; his mother, Mrs. Florine Ramsey of Norfolk; one daughter, Donna Saunders of Petersburg; one son, John ``Tommy'' Ramsey Jr. of Norfolk; two step-daughters, JoAnn Sibley of Saluda, Va., and Katherine White of Portsmouth; one step-son, Walter Webb of South Carolina; one sister, Margaret Hatfield of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; and three nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 1995, in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, by the Rev. Allen Dooley and Dr. David Denny. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today to receive friends.
