Geneva Leicester Reid, 72, of the 2000 block of Oregon Ave., died Sept. 6, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Reid, the widow of Owen Reid, was a native of Bertie County, N.C. She retired as a salesperson from the Life Uniform Shop in Chesapeake Square, and also worked as a salesperson at W.T. Grant until it closed. She was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Portsmouth Women's Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Reid Mercer of Portsmouth, Jean Hutcheson of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; one sister, Virgie Koziol of Portsmouth; one brother, Sidney Leicester of Waverly, Va.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
