Garland W. Nichols, 81, died Sept. 5, 1995.
Mr. Nichols was born in Clover, Va. He had a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech. He was retired from the Virginia Beach Schools as a teacher. He was a Protestant by faith, and was preceded in death by his parents Charlie A. and Sally Nichols.
His survivors include his spouse, Carmen P. Nichols; four daughters, Betty J. Patterson and Anne Eubanks of Virginia Beach, Debbie Andrzejewski of Macomb, Mich., and Sandra Gardner of Trussville, Ala.; and one son, Garland W. Nichols Jr. of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Mary Bomer, Annie Ricketts and Gladys Smiley all of Clover; and 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
