REGINALD C. WALTON

Rev. Reginald C. Walton, 67, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1995.

Rev. Walton graduated from Roanoke College and then received his Master of Divinity degree from Duke University. He served as a minister for 42 years in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Churches served include the Hyco Circuit in South Boston; New Hope in Stafford County; Gainesville/Sudley in Prince William County; Tabernacle in Poquoson; Chesapeake Avenue in Chesapeake; Lakeside in Richmond; Thalia in Virginia Beach; Bon Air in Richmond; Saint John's in Springfield; Centenary in Portsmouth; and Dulin Falls Church. He served the past two years as Chaplain for the VA Medical Center in Salem.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cadd Walton; his sister, Sarah Georgia Walton of Roanoke; daughters, Diana Hopkins of Saint Louis, Carol Lunsford of Christiansburg, and Evella Wallinger of Harrisonburg; their spouses, David Hopkins, Jeff Lunsford and Don Wallinger; grandchildren, Emilee, Natalie, and Clint Hopkins, David and Jessica Lunsford, and Greg and Chris Wallinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Walton and brother, Robert P. Walton Jr.

The family will receive friends at Oakey's Downtown Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The funeral service will be held at Cave Spring United Methodist Church, 4505 Hazel Drive, Roanoke, at 1 p.m. Friday.
