CECIL M. BAINES

Cecil Morris Baines, 69, of the 2800 block of East Point Drive, died Sept. 6, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Baines, a retired inspector, worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 27 years. He was born in Elizabeth City, and was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of America Fellowship Masonic Lodge (NU)148 AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Critcher Baines; one daughter, Ann McVey of Portsmouth; one stepdaughter, Carolyn A. Shearin of Portsmouth; one son, David Lee Baines of Portsmouth; and one stepson, Willie Shearin of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special niece, Marguerite Walsh of Norristown, Pa. He was also survived by his in-laws whom he loved, and was loved by. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Baines.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Albert A. Peverall Jr. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
