Almeta L. Smith, 81, of the 400 block of Chapel St., died Sept. 3, 1995, in Sentara Leigh Memorial.
She was born in Halifax County, N.C., and was the widow of Luther Smith. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, where she was involved in the Mary D. Long Missionary Society.
She is survived by one brother, Golar Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted noon Friday by the Rev. Calvin James in First Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing will be at the Riddick Funeral Home today from 2 until 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at 2834 Stanhope Ave.
