Edna M. Powell, 88, of Portsmouth, Va., had gone to be with her Lord. She passed away on Sept. 7, 1995, in a Portsmouth nursing home.
She was a member of Geneva Park Church of Christ.
She leaves behind a son, James Emmett Powell Sr. of Chesapeake; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Powell of Chesapeake, and Billie Powell of Satellite Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. There will be a graveside service Saturday at 3 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Lee Ashley. The family will be gathering at 2001 Lisbon Road in Portsmouth following the service.
