SAMUEL EVERETT SR.

Samuel Everett Sr., of the 400 block of West 30th St., died Sept. 5, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Center.

Mr. Everett, a retired short shoreman, worked for Lamberts Point Dock for 37 years. He was born in Engelhard, N.C., and was a member of the International Longshoreman Association (NU)1458, 21st St., Norfolk. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death two years ago by his wife, Inez Marie Everett, to whom he was married for 52 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Thelma Robinson of Norfolk, Linda Boone of Chesapeake; one son, Samuel Everett Jr. of Chesapeake; one sister, Bessie Riddick of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a niece, Pearl Randolph of Engelhard; and a host of other friends and relatives.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Metropolitan Funeral Service Chapel, Norfolk, by the Rev. Johnnie Brown. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. A wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Metropolitan. Family and friends will assemble at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Everett Jr., 925 Latham St., Chesapeake, on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the chapel.
