Reba Batts Dickerson, 81, died Friday, Sept. 8, 1995.
She was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kate Newsome Bell. She was preceded in death by a son, Linwood Earl Batts.
Survivors include daughters, Katy B. Hill of the home, Rita Vernell Proctor of Rocky Mount, Sylvia Beacham-Hughes of Kitty Hawk; sons, William Aubrey Batts of Middlesex, Robert Junior Batts of Enfield; sisters, Zola Clay and Juanita Turner, both of Sharpsburg; brothers, Ted M. Bell of Rocky Mount, Jimmy Bell of Scotland Neck; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Harvey Lee Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, other times at the home, 4120 Arlington St. Ext.
