Melvin L. Mason died Sept. 4, 1995, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Mr. Mason was a native of Capron, Va. He was retired from the Washington, D.C., Police Department, and was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church, Camp Spring, Md.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Mason; his mother, Annie Mason; two sons, Anthony Frank C. Mason Sr., M. David Carey; two daughters, Yvonne Mitchell, Tawanna Lynn; three brothers, Lee Howard Whitehead of Suffolk, Benjamin Mason of Courtland, Va., Raymond Mason of Temple Hills, Md.; one sister, Virginia Ward of El Cajon, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church by Dr. Roger S. Steele. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Boykins, Va. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home in charge.
