Elma Caroline ``Sissy'' Carlisle, 45, a part of sunshine, departed this life to live in the rainbows of heaven on Sept. 9, 1995.

Sissy, a lifelong resident of Chesapeake, was a homemaker. She was a member of Chesapeake Church of God.

Sissy is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Carlisle; and four loving daughters, Kathryn S. Miller, Mary J. Hickey, Deborah P. Stephens, and Tina L. Stephens. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Christina Veracruz, Joshua and Jackson Miller, Jeffrey Weeks and Shana Hickey. She is survived by her sisters and brothers, who will miss her dearly, Dorothy J. Linton, Milton R. Brewer, William K. Brewer, Thomas G. Jackson, Linda J. Minga, L. Antionette Jackson, and Connie L. Jackson; and many loving friends. Sissy will be rejoicing with the Lord and her mother and father, Kathryn Elizabeth Jackson and Hubert Ray Jackson, both deceased.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Twiford Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Jack Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Friends and family will gather at the home of Kathy and Jeff Miller, 2224 Ardmore Ave., Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Carol Carlisle Memorial Fund, c/o Crestar Bank, 2421 Bainbridge Blvd, Chesapeake. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
