ANDREW M. HENKEL

Andrew M. Henkel, 73, of the 1200 block of Tim Tam Run, a retired pipe inspector, died Sept. 9, 1995, in his home.

Mr. Henkel was a native of Raritan, N.J. He lived in Manville, N.J. for 37 years and worked for Johns Manville for 42 years before moving to Virginia Beach in 1984, where he worked at Farm Fresh for three years. He was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2290 in Manville.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Jaskulski Henkel; four sons, Andrew Henkel and Joseph Henkel of Manville, Hank Henkel of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Michael Henkel of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Irene Wilson of Somerville, N.J. and Rosemarie LaPolla of Colonia, N.J.; two sisters, Rose Van Fleet and Helen DeBaro of Bridgewater, N.J.; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, by Father William V. Sullivan. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to At Home Care Hospice, 3386 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452.
