LUCILLE LONG BOWLES

Lucille Long Bowles, 87, of Highway 258 North, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 1995, in East Pavilion Nursing Center, Franklin, Va.

She was a native of Severn, N.C., the daughter of the late John Littleberry Long and Carrie Fleetwood Long and the widow of William Thomas Bowles. She was a graduate of Severn High School, a 1929 graduate of Chowan College, retired school teacher, retired employee of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Va., and member of Sunbeam Baptist Church in Sunbeam, Va.

Surviving are one sister, Mary L. Whitt of Richmond; five nephews; and two nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery, Como, with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and will assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to Chowan College, Murfreesboro, N.C. 27855, or to Como Fire and Rescue Squad, Como, N.C. 27818. Garrett Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, is in charge of arrangements.
