Jesse Cook Sr., 76, of the 2400 block of Graham St., a retired roofer, died Sept. 9, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Cook was born in Norfolk County, Va. He retired four years ago as a roofer from Earl Norris Roofing Inc. after 45 years of service.
Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Cook of Wilson, N.C., Gloria Cook, Barbara Reid, Odessa Washington, all of Portsmouth, Karen Jordan of Washington, D.C.; six sons, Joseph Cook of Orlando, Fla., Jesse Cook Jr. of Wilson, N.C., Curtis Cook, Donnell Jordan, Alonzo Jordan, all of Portsmouth, Sanford Jordan of Greenville, N.C.; 30 grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 2412 Graham St., Portsmouth, at 12:15 p.m. for the processional to the chapel.
