Dora Byrum Bishop, 90, of the 1200 block of Johnstown Road, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Starkey E. and Hettie Pierce Byrum. She was the widow of Clarence L. Bishop. Mrs. Bishop was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and the Berkley Chapter (NU)52, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her sister, Alice Jones of Virginia Beach; her five grandchildren, Shirley Forbes and Steve Hendricks, both of Chesapeake, Rosetta White, Sherman King, and Billy King, all of Taylorsport, Ky.; six great-grandchildren, along with her nieces and nephews.
The funeral service wil be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Great Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles L. Moseley. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is handling arrangements.
