Annie Louise Harris, 75, of the 6000 block of Whittier Drive, died Sept. 9, 1995, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She worked as a dietician for the Norfolk City School System. Mrs. Harris was a native of Norfolk and was a member of Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Norfolk. She was also a member of the United Order of Tents and was a daughter of Norfolk.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Harris, of 52 years; two daughters, Barbara A. Samuels of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Phyllis T. Hairston of Union City, Calif.; one son, William S. Harris of Chesapeake, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Alice Harris of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one sister, Doris C. Taylor of Richmond, Calif.; five sisters-in-law, Nannie Dennis, Rachel Brayton, Sarah Hayes, Elsie Sabb of New Jersey, and Laurel Baskerville of Pennsylvania; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Taylor of Richmond, Calif., and Benjamin Harris of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Raymond Dean in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will assemble at the residence. There will be a wake service on Wednesday between the hours of 6 and 7 p.m. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
