U.S. Attorney Janice McKenzie Cole of the Eastern District of North Carolina announced the arrest of Gloria Felton, 37, and her brother Copeland James Green, 40, both of Roper, on federal drug charges.
Felton and Green were indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine and powder cocaine.
If convicted on the conspiracy charge, each faces at least 10 years and up to life imprisonment, a $4 million fine, or both. For the distribution charge, each faces between five and 40 years' imprisonment, a $2 million fine or both.
The arrests are part of an investigation operating in Washington County by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Washington County Sheriff's Department and the Dare County Sheriff's Department. by CNB
