EMMA M. WEST

Emma Moore West, 74, of the 1000 block of Winged Foot Court, died Sept. 12, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. West was born in Poquoson, Va., and was the widow of James E. West Sr. She was predeceased by her son, James E. ``Rus'' West Jr. She was a former resident of Largo, Fla., and Hampton. She was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Chesapeake. She retired as secretary from Calvary Episcopal Church, Largo. She was formerly secretary of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Chesapeake. For many years, Mrs. West was employed as a buyer for J.C. Penny Co., Inc.

Survivors include her daughter, June Leigh Austin of Chesapeake; her mother, Indiana Ferguson of Poquoson; four sisters, Laura Lotkowitz, Shirley Evans, Margaret White, all of Poquoson, and Serena Malmstrom of Waveland, Miss.; four grandchildren, Johnathan Lewis Austin of Lexington Park, Md., Christie Lynn Puckett of Hampton, Dana Kimberly Imes of Virginia Beach, and Lesley Kay Riddick of Clarksville, Tenn.; and four great-grandchildren, Tre', Tylor, and Sam Puckett, all of Hampton, and Joshua Imes of Virginia Beach.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Barbara Blakemore, Rev. Phillip Porcher, and a nephew, Rev. James Mathieson of Danville. Interment will be in Hampton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, 233 Mann Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
