GEORGETTA PURDIE

Georgetta Purdie, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died Sept. 10, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Purdie, the widow of James I. Purdie, was retired from the Virginia Pilot Association. She was born in Ivor, Va., and was a member of Gideons Riverside Fellowship. She was a deaconess, and a member of the United Order of Tent and Grand Court Order of Calanthe.

Survivors include one daughter, Vernice Holloman of Norfolk; three sisters, Bernice H. Williams and Trilby Hayes, both of Norfolk, and Dorothy Stith of Chesapeake; three brothers, Grover Holloman and Calvin Holloman, both of Norfolk; and Smallwood Holloman of Chesapeake; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Gideons Riverside Fellowship, by Milton, the disciple. Burial will be in Little Gilfield Church Cemetery, Ivor. The family will assemble at 804 Roseclair St. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Graves Funeral Home in charge.
