EDWARD C. TURNER

Edward ``Buddy'' Casey Turner, 67, of Chesapeake, died on Sunday night, Sept. 10, 1995, in a Chesapeake hospital.

He was a retired central office repairman for C & P Telephone Company after 32 years of service. Following his retirement, he had working for Farm Fresh for 10 years. He was born in Alabama, and was the son of the late Alice Egan and James Arthur Turner.

Mr. Turner was a member of the Communications Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO and its Retired Members Club, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was very active for 15 years in the baseball, football, and basketball leagues in the Chesapeake Recreational Department.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Cook Turner; a daughter, Diane D. Turner of Chesapeake; three sons, James E. Turner of Norfolk, Gary L. Turner of Moyock, N.C., and Carl S. Turner of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren, Brook, Lauren, Logan, Casey and Mackenzie.

A chapel funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today in Cox Funeral Home by Dr. John F. Payne. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
