Mary Litchfield Smith, 86, formerly of Norfolk, died Sept. 12, 1995, in a North Carolina hospital.
Mrs. Smith, the widow of Mitchell W. Smith, was born in Michigan City, Ind. She was a member of Coinjock Baptist Church, and a member of Order of Eastern Star in Indianapolis, Ind.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary M. Cross of Coinjock, N.C., and Susannah L. Grimsley of Kernersville, N.C.; two sisters, Catherine Staffen of Toronto, Canada, and Elliott Cimino of Harlingen, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Smith.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Princess Anne Memorial Park, by the Rev. Charles H. Wellons. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to Coinjock Baptist Church.
