Esther Alexandra Fellman Petryna, 86, of Essex Circle, formerly of Detroit, Mich., died Sept. 11, 1995.
She was in born in Wallowa, Ore., and was the widow of Alexander Jay Petryna. Mrs. Petryna was a member of Norview Presbyterian Church and having completed normal school, she taught kindergarten through eighth grade in a one-room schoolhouse in Oregon.
She is survived by two daughters, Caroll Petryna Hauck of Puerto Rico, Yvonne Estelle Petryna of Chicago, Ill.; one son, David A. Petryna of Norfolk; one sister, Minnie Stromgren of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Vernon Murray in Norview Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the church following the service. Donations may be made to Norview Presbyterian Church. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
