The city's 28th homicide victim of 1995 died Tuesday from a gunshot wound he suffered during an assault in the Ida Barbour housing community Aug. 23.
Kelvin Robinson, 19, of the 1500 block of County St., died at 6:20 a.m. in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, said police spokesman G.A. Brown.
Robinson was shot in the upper torso in the 1300 block of Barbour Drive at 9:56 p.m. after being approached by a group of men. Responding to the shooting, police found a blue Buick Sentry parked nearby that they said belonged to 20-year-old Calvin L. Holmes.
They later arrested Holmes and charged him with malicious wounding and a firearms violation. A murder warrant charging Holmes, who was released on bond after his August arrest, has been obtained, Brown said.
