The official opening and dedication ceremony for the Cashie Wetlands Walk in Windsor will be held next week, on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Senate President Pro Tem Marc Basnight, D-Dare, will be the speaker. Other state, county and town officials are expected to attend.
The Cashie Wetlands Walk is about 1,900 feet of nature trails and a 1,200-foot boardwalk in the wetlands near the Cashie River. Flat bottom canoes will be available for a ride on the river. The 6th Annual Chicken on the Cashie will be held at Cashie Country Club beginning at 5 p.m. Music will be by The Embers. Tickets are required. by CNB
