PARK TO OPEN

The Naval Air Station, Norfolk, will conduct a dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday opening the Air Station's Ely Memorial Park aircraft display.

The event is planned to commemorate POW/MIA Day, as well as give special tribute to Naval Aviation and some Naval aviation heroes, and pay special respects to their families.

The ceremony will take place inside Gate Four near the E-2C aircraft on display.

As a special acknowledgement for the Naval Aviation Depot, an A-6 Intruder and F-14 Tomcat will be dedicated. Additional aircraft planned for Ely Memorial Park include H-2, H-3, H-46 and H-53 helicopters, as well as World War II era fighter and patrol craft.

Friday's dedication of Ely Memorial Park is part of Navy's commitment to recognize the devoted men and women of Naval aviation. by CNB
