NEPTUNE FESTIVAL SCHEDULE: WEEKEND'S FUN STARTS AT FARMERS MARKET

Neptune Festival XXII is underway. Most activities during this gala fall festival are at the oceanfront and most of the action is concentrated during the last weekend, Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.

This weekend, however, the fun can be found Saturday at the Farmers Market and Sunday at Fort Story. And, it marks the last chance you'll have to get tickets for next Tuesday's prayer breakfast.

Dr. Richard A. Mladick is King Neptune XXII, and Lawrence Sutton of Hoffman Beverage Co. is chairman of the festival.

Here are the highlights:

SATURDAY, SEPT. 16

Country Fair Day - Farmers Market. Featured are a pig race, tractor trot, cow milking contest, cooking competitions and country bands from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 427-4395.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 17

Sandman Triathlon - Atlantic Avenue at 31st Street. Featured are an ocean swim, biking and running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entry fee. Call 496-7450.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 19

Prayer Breakfast - Cavalier Beach Club from 7 to 9 a.m. Speaker is Pat Williams, general manager of the Orlando Magic basketball team. Reservations and tickets required. Call 498-0215.

Air Show with the Blue Angels - Oceana Naval Air Station. Gates open at 9 a.m.; displays and exhibits open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show features stunt planes, jets, gliders and more. Call 433-3155.
