ROBERT F. JORDAN SR.

Robert Franklin Jordan Sr., 79, of Virginia Beach, died Sept. 14, 1995, in his residence.

Mr. Jordan was a native of Richmond. He was the widower of Frances Crumpler Jordan and son of the late Erma Linthicum Jordan and Charles Franklin Jordan. He was a veteran of World War II and had retired from the Civil Service with more than 40 faithful years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Norfolk.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Franklin Jordan Jr., of Virginia Beach, John Richard Jordan Sr., of Midlothian, Va., and Kerry Clark Jordan of Virginia Beach; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth J. Whitehurst of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Mildred J. Loftin of Virginia Beach, Dorothy J. Faust of Richmond, Mrs. Jean J. Taylor of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. Frances J. Roberts of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Charles E. Jordan and Lloyd M. Jordan, both of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A church service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 1995, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Hugh C. White III. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends in the funeral home this evening, from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Robert F. and Frances C. Jordan Endowed Book Fund, Virginia Wesleyan College, 1584 Wesleyan Drive, Norfolk, Va. 23502. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
