Joan Walters Cruse, 60, died Sept. 13, 1995, in her residence.
She was a native of Miami, Fla. Joan Cruse was responsible for the beautification at the Marina at Marina Shores with flowers, plants, and shrubs. The entrance to each dock had different species of exotic blooming flowers. She will be remembered each season as the beauty of her labor of love is enjoyed by all members.
She is survived by one daughter, Gale Marie Malbon Levine; two sons, Luther R. Malbon Jr., and Richard Malbon; her mother, Layland Walter; two sisters, Ruby Wells and June Cruse; four brothers, Don, Earnest, Jim and Oscar Cruse; grandmother, Layland Varnabel Walters; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Barry Walters.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Warren L. Reeves in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, 23451. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements.
