Lelia Warner Smith, 82, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1995, in St. Francis Nursing Center.
A native of New York City, N.Y., she had been an area resident since 1971. Mrs. Smith was a member of World Wide Church of God, Norfolk, and had worked as a nurses' aide for many years.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Albert A. Smith and her daughter, Nancy Lee Smith. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Albert L. and Joan Smith of Hampton; her sister, Dorothy Battin of Santa Fe, N.M.; three grandsons, Daniel Smith and his wife, Amy of Woodbridge, Va., James Smith and his wife, Susan of Temple, Texas, and Edward Smith of Hampton; and one great-grandson, Evan Smith.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hampton, by the Rev. Paul Suckling. Interment services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peninsula Rescue Mission, 3700 Huntington Ave., N.N., Va. 23607.
