A 41-year-old middle-school custodian has been accused of exposing himself to children and asking them to perform sexual acts, police said Thursday.
Police spokesman Lou Thurston said none of the incidents for which William C. Wallace is accused happened at Wallace's place of employment, Kempsville Middle School.
Thurston said the charges of indecent liberties with children stem from incidents at Wallace's home.
Thurston said Wallace would play loud music in his home in the 5300 block of Leicester Court to get the attention of neighborhood children.
``He would then make lewd comments to them, expose himself and suggest they come inside and perform sexual acts,'' Thurston said.
None of the children are believed to have gone into Wallace's home, investigators said. The incidents happened over three months beginning April 10 and involved two boys and three girls, ages 7 to 13, Thurston said.
Wallace was released on $10,000 bail.
Police are asking anyone with information about Wallace to call Crime Solvers at 427-0000 or Detective James McElligott at 427-4101. ILLUSTRATION: Police said William C. Wallace would play loud music in his home
