Hugh Frank Walker, 70, died Sept. 13, 1995, in the home of his sister in Brookville, Ohio.
He had made his residence in Waverly for many years. Born in Petersburg, Va., he was the son of the late Hugh Francis and Rhea McKesson Walker. He retired in 1975 as an electrician at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and he was a Baptist. He was husband of the late Helen Isle Hawkins Walker.
He is survived by a sister, Paulin F. Hubler of Brookville; three brothers, Stanley M. Walker of Waverly, Earle R. Walker of Wooster, Ohio, and Ivan G. Walker of Chatham, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Douglas M. Cotter. Burial will be in the Hawkins family cemetery, Dinwiddie County, Va. The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends on Tuesday morning in the hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad, or to the American Cancer Society.
