Robert O. ``Chick'' Walker Jr., 74, departed Norfolk, and went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 1995.
He was a retired district sales manager of Bulcan Materials Co., where he worked for 20 years. He was a native of Richmond, Va., and was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. Mr. Walker was a past deacon of Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Va., and Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. He was also a member of Norfolk United Royal Arch Chapter (NU)1.
He is survived by his wife, Lois W. Walker of Virginia Beach; two sons, Robert O. Walker III and his wife Anita of Virginia Beach, and James F. Walker and his wife Marilyn of Virginia Beach; one sister, Sadie Jane Tharp of Bedford, Va.; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Kelly Walker of Virginia Beach; three grandsons, T.J., Nathan, and Brodie Walker of Virginia Beach; one nephew, Willard D. Tharp of Bedford, Va.; and one great-nephew, Christopher F. Tharp of Bedford, Va.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Robert L. Crute in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial is in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of The Kings Daughters, or Davis Corner Rescue Squad.
