Allen Lee Burrus of Hatteras has been named to the board of trustees of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching.
The appointment to an unexpired term ending Oct. 31, 1997, was made by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors.
Burrus is vice chairman of the Dare County Board of Education, where he serves on the finance, facilities and teaching fellows committees. Co-owner and manager of Burrus Red and White, he is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College. by CNB
