Marine Fisheries Commission Chairman Robert V. Lucas has resigned from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission.
Lucas, who has served about 1 1/2 years on the board, said in a letter given to Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. Thursday that his resignation is effective immediately.
Lucas told Hunt that he had intended to serve on the ASMFC one year but decided to stay until new Director Bruce L. Freeman could join the group and direct North Carolina's activities on ASMFC boards. by CNB
