``I WANT TO BE like Arnold,'' said one caller to our BFIT line last week.
Benedict Arnold? Tom Arnold? Matthew Arnold? Arnold Palmer?
All right, we know which Arnold.
A number of would-be Arnolds have come off the couch since Fitness Quest began in July. And so have a lot of other people with more modest goals.
``I want to quit smoking and be able to walk three miles a day,'' said one caller this past week.
If you'd like to join Fitness Quest and pledge a goal or if you'd just like to learn more about exercise and nutrition, call Infoline at 640-5555 and press BFIT (2348). It's not too late to get on board. Fitness Quest runs through December.
Each week 10 callers who pledge their goals are selected at random to receive a ``Go for Fit'' T-shirt.
This week's winners are:
J. Brown, Franklin; D. Caxton, Norfolk; K. Donohue, Virginia Beach; T. Duncan, Virginia Beach; S. Evans, Portsmouth; B. Griffin, Norfolk; C. McHurley, Virginia Beach; J. Palmer, Virginia Beach; K. Valley, Portsmouth; H. Wilhelm, Chesapeake.
You can order a T-shirt by sending your name, address, shirt size and a check or money order for $10.45 (includes tax) to The Virginian-Pilot, Fitness T-Shirt, P.O. Box 1978, Norfolk, Va. 23501. by CNB
