A 20-year-old man died Friday from gunshot wounds he suffered Sept. 2, police said.
Garrie K. Calhoune, of the 1800 block of Delaney St., was struck by gunfire exchanged between two men in the 5600 block of Hearth Circle. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The two men were identified as Radolfo B. Paynado Jr., 23, of the 1600 block of Rocky Circle in Virginia Beach and William P. Hogge III, 19, of the 900 block of Arcadia Road in Chesapeake.
Paynado had been charged with malicious assault and Hogge had been charged with attempted malicious assault. Both men were released on bond. Investigators will meet with the Commonwealth's Attorney to decide if the charges will be upgraded.
