Meta Combs Mason, 79, of the 200 block of Mohave Trail, died Saturday in Chowan Hospital.
A native of Tyrrell County, Mrs. Mason was a daughter of the late Lemuel B. and Nannie Williams Combs and the wife of Robert L. ``Bob'' Mason. She was a retired retail sales clerk and a member of Bandon Chapel and the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Stella S. Hargrave of Chesapeake; two sons, Frank C. Snell and Josh W. Snell, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Jean C. Castellow of Shawboro, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bandon Chapel with burial following in the Phillipi Church of Christ Cemetery, Creswell. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home in Edenton from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
