Margaret Turner Ballance of Portsmouth, died Sept. 17, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Ballance was born in Damascus, Va., and was the widow of Thomas E. Ballance. She was retired from Harrison Moving & Storage Company, Portsmouth, after 24 years. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class; Elizabeth Chapter (NU)45, O.E.S. Norfolk; Daughters of the Nile Alkena Temple (NU)124; and past president of the Monticello Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Winslow of Chesapeake; three brothers, Charles Turner of Virginia Beach and Lewis Turner and Rufus Turner, both of Norfolk; and five nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Ernie Myers. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
