Martin Luther Thompson Sr., 74, of the 4900 block of Century Drive, died Sept. 17, 1995, in a Norfolk nursing home.
Mr. Thompson was born in Tarboro, N.C., and was a retired maintenance mechanic. He was a member of Penticostal Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet Piland and Edward T. Thompson, and a brother, James Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Thompson; four daughters, Hazel M. Parron, Ellen J. Kelley and Nancy L. Diaz, all of Virginia Beach, and Carolyn E. Hayth of Norfolk; one son, Martin L. Thompson Jr. of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Louise Repass of Appomattox, Va., Elsie Carroll and Lillian Frost, both of Portsmouth; one brother, John W. Thompson of Portsmouth; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Vance Smith in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
