MADALENE S. KORNEGAY

Madalene S. Kornegay, 67, of the 300 block of Carver Circle, died Sept. 17, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Mrs. Kornegay, the widow of Paul R. Kornegay, was a retired custodian for Portsmouth City Public School System. She was born in Norfolk County, Va., and was a member of Zion Bethel United Church of Christ, and a member of the Missionary Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Reid and Robin D. Windley, both of Portsmouth; one sister, Elizabeth Fraser of Queens, N.Y.; one brother, Henry Saunders of Portsmouth; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Zion Bethel United Church of Christ, Portsmouth, by the Rev. D.A. Peace. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
