Andrew ``Gate'' Johnson, 74, died Sept. 16, 1995, in Hampton Veterans Nursing Home.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Isle of Wight County, was a television technician and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 34 years of service. He was the widower of Emma C. Johnson.
Survivors include two stepsons, James Chamberline of Boston, Mass., William Chamberline of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Irene Q. Williams of Portsmouth and Anna Butler of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, Eddie Johnson of Baltimore, Willie C. Johnson and Rev. James H. Johnson, both of Carrollton.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sweet Haven Holy Church of God, by Bishop Nathaniel Johnson. Burial will be in Campbell's Chapel AME Church Cemetery. The body will be in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at 23099 Reynolds Drive, Carrollton. Tynes-Edwards and Shivers Funeral Home in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
